APE Rugunga again beat ESK on a very slim margin of 63:57 final score. APE Rugunga is the only team in Rwanda that has consistently beaten ESK Boys team in all high school basketball competitions. ESK is yet to explore the right formula of beating their archrivals APE Rugunga.

ESK Boys Basketball Team won Rwf150, 000 prize money, losing the Rwf200,000 bounty to APE Rugunga.

Both teams too qualified for FEASSSA 2018.

Mr. Gihana Jimmy the ESK Sports master is quite satisfied with school Basketball and Football teams performances for both boys and girls. “We are champions of “Amashuri Kagame Cup 2018” Girls Basketball, first runners up in football and basketball for boys. That is a quite good performance because the competitions were quite tight this year. We now go to FEASSSA 2018 with one target of winning it for our country (Rwanda). We are aware that the East African teams are not easy to beat, so we are vesting more efforts in training to ensure proper fitness and technical abilities”
