BASKETBALL : Boys and Girls Teams Crush Opponents

On Sunday February 18, 2018, LDK Boys Basketball team ‘walloped’ College Saint Andre (CSA) 46:31 in a match that left many wondering the kind of challenge CSA put up.
CSA put up a spirited fight against the elegant LDK that has a number of good players playing for the national team and big basketball clubs in Rwanda.

Nevertheless, LDK eventually pulled-off unrivalled moves and strategies that left CSA overwhelmed, before the referee put the match to bed. Ngoga’s performance stood out as he covered most ground and created more assists than his LDK playmates.
It is the annual “Amashuri Kagame Cup 2018” competition, where the winner at the national level come June this year will progress to represent Rwanda in the FEASSA Tournament around August (this year).

In a related development, it was walkover for LDK Girls Basketball team playing against CSA and Lycee Notre-Dame De Citeaux (LNDC). Matches ended 76 : 9 and 67 : 14 respectively in favour of LDK. It all looked like an easy training session for the muscular, well-fed, elegant LDK girls.

The match LNDC against LDK was more fun as the chants from Sister Helen’s girls kept the physically weaker LNDC team going and managing to pull -off a few 3-pointers that left many wondering if the miracle was about to happen.

It all looked an easy ride for LDK girls as they scored at will. Hope and the two sisters were dominant. Sifa was superb. She could defend, win balls and do counter attacks. Taking advantage of her experience and skill at the game, she scored a number of 3-pointers.
